AMD: US Govt. could have saved $563M by buying AMD over Intel!

Costing tax payers in the hundred millions of dollars, is the premium worth the cost? AMD says no. In fact, AMD says that a whopping $563 million could have been saved in taxpayer dollars, had the government been brand-neutral in its purchases.
Well, well, let’s just say that Intel DOES have a mind hold on most people as the ONLY processor to use…but come on, someone in the goverment must be in charge of purchasing tech related devices, and I’m SURE that person has tech. knowlage…and that person should have been able to decide on purchasing AMD processors…but then again this IS American goverment we’re talking about…and the cost savings ARE being brought to you buy AMD…last words: Buyer Beware…Welcome to CrzyLand

Hey Nic,
why are the offcials in the US government such morons? that’s a crap load of money that they could have saved

Well ‘Anonymous’ the offcials in the US goverment probally aren’t the ones to blame…instead their underlyings who decide on these purchases are the morons…think of it in the sense that a Governor tells his assistant that she needs to get bids on 30 laptops…she probally calls Dell, Gateway, HP and maybe some other small companies…these guys hear ‘Goverment Bid’ and don’t hesitate to load these computers with things they probally don’t need or want…OR under load them to insure they’ll be needing upgrades soon…I guess it comes down to ignorance is bliss
