IT Managers gluing up USB ports
Network manageres are using tubes of super glue to protect their systems from data theft. Outfits are getting so hot and bothered at the loss of corporate data that they are removing writable drives and ordering network staff to pour superglue into USB ports. Nothing a little “cut and paste” won’t fix!
Increased data theft has left many companies scrambling to find a way to disable USB ports on computers. With the advent of USB drives, and the ever increasing size of the drives, suddenly walking out with years of company secrets is fast and easy. Instead of taking the time to disable users from having the security rights to install new hardware, the action needed to use a USB drive, incompetent IT Managers would rather just ruin USB ports permanently. Of course this leads me back to an older story about keyloggers and IT Managers using super-glue to glue the keyboard to the computer. Is super-glue the IT duct-tape? Welcome to CrzyLand
