Top 10 “Crzy” Tech Gifts
Taking a look at a few of the items we’ve covered here at CrzyLand, and giving you our top 10 gift items. So without further adieu…

This little gem is the ultimate in functional gag-gift. This rewinds your DVDs with “Centripetal Velocity Spindle”, and plays a “rewind” sound in the process. Of course you can change this sound and record anything you want…perhaps telling them how much of an idiot they are for even trying to use it. For more info and purchasing visit www.dvdrewinder.com

Kingston’s Self-Destructing USB Drive
This Kingston Data Traveler Elite - Privacy edition USB drive sets itself apart from the rest with one little feature. After 25 failed attempts to access it’s encrypted drive it simply erases all the data. Not quite a “James Bond” explosive destruction, but it still does the trick. A great tool for the road warrior forced to carry around sensitive data you don’t want falling into the wrong hands. 4GB available at NewEgg.com for just $237.99

Who hasn’t sat in front of a monitor for 4-5hrs and not worked up a small case of “swamp-back.” You know what I’m talking about, the way the chair back manages to suffocate your lower back creating the aforementioned “swamp-back.” Here’s your life saver, this shirt has two fans on either side blowing fresh air into your lower back. Features a switch to adjust the speed from “swamp thing” to “slightly humid.” Of course you can’t ALWAYS be in front of your computer so it can be ran of AA batteries, or a convenient cigarette lighter in your car. Not sure where to locate this item, but Mr. Kouzi Ichigaya of Japan can help you out.

Being winter time this could be the perfect gift for the “cable-rat” in your life. You know the guy, the one who always blew off classes because he knew everything already. The guy who could have a great tech job, but just didn’t have the degree yet. Yea that guy who’s slinging Cat-5 in crawlspaces in the middle of January. He might really like a pair of these. The pants heat your lower back and pockets (to warm you frozen cable slinging hands). Available at Brookstone.com for a cool $150

This is great for the person on your list who’s into the “retro” scene. This phone has everything we miss in the old rotary dial phone. The super loud bell ringer, the silly twisting dial, and of course the super twisted and mangled handset cord. The brilliance is that it’s really a cell phone. All you have to do is pop your SIM card into this phone and you’re good to go. The phone runs on a Lithium-Polymer battery with a 4-5 day standby run time. Available at Spark Fun Electronics 10-99 just $499.10 each

These speakers don’t do anything special, but tell me how many Linux users wouldn’t love to have a set of these sitting on their desk. Available at Amazon.com $23.09

Sure we’ve all had a few too many drinks. However not all of us have had the experience of calling up someone that we probably shouldn’t even still have the number for, and professing our undying feelings for. Of course if we were sober this would NEVER had happen. Well this is where LG steps in with their LP4100. This phone has a built in breathalyzer. If you blow over a .08 it shows you a car swerving on the road and hitting a group of safety cones. Now this is where it gets good, the phone allows you to block certain contacts if you blow over a .08 keeping you from calling those who you shouldn’t “drunk-dial.” It appears the phone hasn’t yet hit the market, but keep on the lookout. www.lge.com

Animated PacMan Bike Wheels
This is freakin’ sweet! Using LED’s on your bicycle wheels and a little thing known as “persistence of vision” you can create this killer look. This isn’t really for purchase, but the plans are available at instructables.com

“There’s no place like 127.0.0.1″ Door Mat
This is the ultimate in geek gear for the home. If you know what 127.0.0.1 means then you know why you must have this! Available at ThinkGeek.com for just $39.99

USB Cannon
What better way to tell the office jerk to leave you alone then to fire a missile at him. The cannon comes with software that allows you to aim the cannon and fire. The missiles are painted with “busty women”, and comes with a net to catch the lovely beauties. This is got to be the best USB device I’ve ever seen. Available at Vat19.com for just $34.95
I only hope that this list have given you some new ideas and possibly made someone very happy this holiday season. Welcome to CrzyLand.

Cool topic. I’d like to see more of these crazy things. A usb air conditioned shirt? Are you kidding me? I actually own the usb cannon from the site mentioned. They are still selling it http://www.vat19.com/dvds/usb-cannon.cfm It might seem like a crazy thing to buy, but it’s fun and funny. Awesome blog, I’ve been going through the archives.

Does ayone remember promise rings? Well they’ve made a comeback, mostly with the teen generation. They symbolize commitment, especially for couples too young to get married. They can also symbolize an unbreakable friendship bond. A gift of these and a buch of fresh blooms will go a long way in any relationship, even friendship.
