Windows Codename Fiji, next OS for Micrsoft?

Just when you thought windows Vista would be the last and final blow from Microsoft....there comes a new windows operating system called :Codename Fiji

If you read our older story about Microsoft killing their OS programs to work on services instead, you might be scratching your head...well I guess Microsoft is still planning on pushing out new OS...but then again they just might be build ups for the new vista, similar to the way that 98 and 95 felt one in the same...really the point of this whole article is that Microsoft can't walk and chew gum, so the release of Fiji is already behind due to the release problems with Vista...Welcome To CrzyLand

Gas Too Pricey? Make Your Own

By filling 15 percent of your car's gas tank with ethanol, you can bring down the price-per-gallon from $3 to about $2.40... Of course, if you don't add the ingredient that makes ethanol unfit for human consumption, you would find yourself with something else: 190 proof moonshine.

Well no wonder them Duke Boys were able to run the General Lee so hard...but seriously, a drop from $3 to $2.40 makes you have to ask yourself...is $.60/gallon worth the chance of blowing your house up...and dealing with local authoritizes who want to ask questions about your still...not to mention the $1,400 price tag for the still just 2,334 gallons to get your money's worth out of it...Welcome To CrzyLand

Regenerating the Ear's Hearing Cells

The ears hearing cells are very sensitive to damage from excessive noise, infections and toxins. Once damaged, the cells do not naturally regenerate in mammals. New research suggests that - under the right conditions - the cells can be regenerated.

Hold up...it appears that the 'cells' cant be regenerated...but instead the 'hairs' in the ear can be regenerated...this still being a big discovery since that is where the damage is usally caused...that being said I'd still recommend ear plugs anytime you're around more then 80Db...Welcome To CrzyLand

Congress May Consider Mandatory ISP Snooping!

It didn't take long for the idea of forcing Internet providers to retain records of their users' activities to gain traction in the U.S. Congress!

Why is it that the goverment feels like they need to police something like the damn internet...first it was lets go after the servers since they're located in America...well quick solution...move the server to another country...okay that did work, alright lets go ahead and go after the ISP now, and make them retain information for a good year, so just incase something comes up we can go back a year and see what they were doing...nevermind the cost that ISP will have to incure to maintain that kind of data...and then just to make everyone who has their head up their ass conviced we're right, we'll use things like stopping CHILD PORN as the reason to jump on our band wagon...Welcome To CrzyLand

Spam King Alan Ralsky jailed, may bring down hacker/spammer network

Alan Ralsky arrested! I just scored an interview with a local hacker who says the "Spam King" might rat out a massive network of spammers and hackers to the DOJ to lighten his sentence.

Oops...this goes to show you one thing...NEVER tell anyone about the things you do...Mr. Ralsky could bring down SO many people in the 'hacker scene' that the poor DOJ may have their hands full for years to come...and with the increased brush stroke 'terroist' was given by the Patriot Act this could lead to some heavy jail time for those left in his wake...however I feel like this is the ass backwards method of doing business with criminals...he's the top dog, usually minions dish dirt for deals so they can get up the chain of command...that being said 'hackers' and 'spammers' are hot topics in the American lexicon...and Americans love it when the good guys beat up on these 'bad guys'...Welcome to CrzyLand

Eliminate Training Wheels With the GyroBike

The company, a spin-off out of Dartmouth College, is coming out later this year or early next year with a gyroscope/flywheel that fits into the front wheel of a kid's bike. When a child begins to go off-balance and fall over, the gyroscope corrects the path of the bike and props it back up.

This is brilliant...I wasn't one of the lucky children to get trainning wheels...but once I finally learned how to ride a bike, any time I would try and ride a bike with training wheels I would become VERY frustrated...you couldn't ride them like a normal bike...you couldn't lean the bike and cut a hard turn...and you couldn't go too fast since quick manuvers were limited to no flipping the bike over the front wheel turning more then 45degrees...no trainning wheels seemed like a god-send when you couldn't ride and a pain when you finally got it...however with this new GyroBike children will learn the 'feel' of balance instead of ridding an over-priced trike-like bike...Welcome to CrzyLand

Sony to Lose $900M in 2006/2007 on PS3 Launch?

Sony Corp. said on Thursday that it expected its game division to post a loss of about 100 billion yen, hit by start-up costs for its PlayStation 3 game machine. Thatâ??s almost a billion dollars Sony is looking to lose to launch the PS3. And to think that many of us thought Sony would actually learn from the mistakes of Microsoft.

This really isn't something new...consoles have been losing money on resale VS cost...but I'm more surprised how no one is picking up on the Blu-Ray...that is the driving force behind the PS3...Sony must include the Blu-Ray in the PS3...Blu-Ray+Loyal PS Gamers=Blu-Ray flooded market...this could be the end of the VHS/Beta comparison to Blu-Ray/HD-DVD...Sony knows what they're doing, and they don't mind taking a hit in the game division to insure a huge profit in their Home Entertainment Division...Welcome to CrzyLand

Landmine-proof robot shoe invented for special forces

People wearing the robotic shoe would be able to step directly onto an anti-personnel mine, without getting their legs blown off. It can be used by mine clearers or special forces troops.

The six-legged shoes protect the wearer by lifting up a leg if it is over a mine. The other five legs continue to support the wearer's weight.

Now I'm sure you're wondering as I did, how the hell does the leg know when to lift up...well it has a metal detector located in the foot of each leg...when it detects metal a solenoid is triggered to unlock the leg allowing it to lift freely when pressed against the ground, not triggering the mine...then once clear of metal the leg is locked back into place by the solenoid...seems very cool as long as you don't step directly on a mine triggering ALL of the feet...Welcome to CrzyLand

AMD: US Govt. could have saved $563M by buying AMD over Intel!

Netflix files to sue Blockbuster to shut down on-line service

Online DVD rental company Netflix Inc. on Tuesday sued rival Blockbuster Inc. for patent infringement, asking a federal judge in Northern California to shut down Blockbuster's 18-month-old online rental service and award Netflix damages, according to a copy of the filing.

Perhaps what Netflix is really worried about is that Blockbuster has already signed up 1.2 million customers in just 18months and with the added feature of a free rental in-store each week, Blockbuster doesn't seem like a good idea, it looks like a great idea, espically when the cost is identical...frankly I think all the problems that were brought up with the whole blackberry thing already showed a problem with the whole patent on an idea...saying that no one else can rent DVD's and charge no late fee's is asnine...and then saying that you can't let users have a 'wish list' or as blockbuster calls it 'my queue' as a patentable idea is just stupid....Welcome to CrzyLand

High tech way to defrost your car windows in less than a second

Dartmouth College engineering professor Victor Petrenko, not to be confused with one of the Champions on Ice, has devised a way to use a burst of electricity to remove ice caked on walls or windows. For surfaces coated with a special film, the jolt gets rid of ice in less than a second, far less time than it takes to hack at it with an ice scraper.

A quick burst of electricity will heat the surface to about 1 degree Celcius then turning back off...this allows the first few microns under the sheet of ice to melt and then the water is used to allow the ice to slide away...this seems like a great technology and they're already looking into Jet Plane windows, and inside your freezer...Welcome to CrzyLand
