Paedophiles Speak Out

Amsterdam - Dutch paedophiles are launching a political party to push for a cut in the legal age for sexual relations to 12 from 16 and the legalisation of child pornography and sex with animals.

Not to make light of this, but it seems to be the only way to stomach something like this...they're also intrested in making all trains free, public nudity an okay thing...so it's not ALL bad, it's just mostly HORRIBLE...Crzy Dutch...Welcome to CrzyLand

Video of Biodegradable Plastic Water Bottle Decomposing

A company in Colorado has come up with a water bottle for their spring water that totally biodegrades in about 80 days. It's a type of plastic made from corn.

You can watch the time-elapsed video on their site (just make sure your window is wide enough - the time-elapsed part is on the far right).

Corn based plastic...I'm just curious about what starts the decomposition to occur...how long is the shelf life of the bottle...Welcome to CrzyLand

Hackers can crack top antivirus program

Symantec Corp.'s leading antivirus software, which protects some of the world's largest corporations and U.S. government agencies, suffers from a flaw that lets hackers seize control of computers to steal sensitive data, delete files or implant malicious programs, researchers said Thursday.

Well it appears that HOME users should be okay...unless your company gave you a copy of their enterprise edition to put onto your home computer...then you might just be in a little bit of trouble...seems that the guys at eEye Digital Security discovered the backdoor and have notified Symantec about the "flaw"...Just another reason to not use Norton...Welcome to CrzyLand

First screenshots of Nike+iPod Nano interface

Cool Hunting was at the press release and has posted some screen shots of the new Nano interface, plus some pics of Nike's new iPod-centric line of clothing that has extensive cable management built-in.

I KNOW that none of us need this, but this is pretty cool none the less...simply placing the small white disc-like object under your shoe insole allows your iPod Nano to communicate with your foot...this then allows you to maintain speed, distance, and calories burned on the screen of your iPod...plus why run around and not be able to show off to everyone that you've got the cash to drop on a iPod...allah Nike's new iPod clothing with "impressive cord management" built into the clothing...WOW...*yawn* at the end of the day, it's an iPod and you're a rich bastard running around a neighborhood full of other rich bastards...Welcome to CrzyLand

FBI to get veto power over PC software?

Americans don't have the right to use software such as Skype or PGPfone if it doesn't support mandatory backdoors for wiretapping? That interpretation was confirmed by an FCC spokesman

Legal Loophole Emerges In NSA Spy Program

An AT&T attorney indicated in federal court on Wednesday that the Bush administration provided legal authorization for the telecommunications company to open its network to the National Security Agency.

So here we go...we've found the loop-hole...now I'm sure that there's no chance the government will supply AT&T or any other company (Bell South, Verizon who claim they have nothing to do with this) who may need to slip through the crack...frankly I think THIS is what's wrong with the whole system...allowing these companies to supply the government with phone call habits of all their customers...I suppose anytime the government feels like doing something without going through the proper legal channels they'll have the Attorney General just write them a note...makes me sick...Welcome to CrzyLand

Mass. rep demands FCC action in NSA phone-spy case

U.S. Rep. Edward Markey yesterday demanded the Federal Communications Commission either launch an investigation into telecommunications companies that provided millions of customersâ?? phone records to the National Security Agency or explain how the program is lawful.

In a letter sent to FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, Markey (D-Malden) said major telecommunication companies - including AT&T, Verizon and BellSouth - might have broken customer privacy laws by supplying phone records to the NSA’s massive spy program.

“I would like to know what the Commission intends to do with respect to probing these apparent breaches” of customer privacy laws, Markey said in the letter.

Just one step closer to possibly getting down to the source of this information...According to the Boston Herald approximately 51% of Americans disapprove of the NSA phone record database...the more outraged Americans become the more you're going to see government officials run to oppose this if for no better reason but to cover their own asses and to gain votes...remember that even Senators have to use a cell phone provider and all of their phone calls are being recorded...If you think back a few years ago Newt Gingrich was forced into stepping down after a phone call he placed was recorded by someone using a scanner...I'm sure a lot of our government officials have said things they hope NEVER make it to the public's ears...Welcome to CrzyLand

Federal Source to ABC News: We Know Who You're Calling

"ABC News does not know how the government determined who we are calling, or whether our phone records were provided to the government as part of the recently-disclosed NSA collection of domestic phone calls." "It's time for you to get some new cell phones, quick," the source told us in an in-person conversation.

This is a very sticky situation...first and foremost is the issue as national security by plugging the leaks in our government...second is the need for an honest government...had someone never mentioned what the NSA was doing with regards to our phone use, then we'd never know about these phone taps...yet the bigger issue will probably be that people who warn the media of things that the government is doing behind our backs will find themselves in prison for leaking government secrets. This could be the end to anonymous sources...Welcome to CrzyLand

Verizon being sued for $5 Billion over NSA spying

I'm not a big fan of lawsuits, but I'd say Verizon and the other Telcos (Bellsouth and AT&T) need to be held accountable for giving or selling data to the NSA.

Credit to dslreports.com for finding the story.

Well even if the government can't invistigate the NSA at least the American people still have a way of stopping this madness...Verizon may be the first, but I wouldn't be surprised if all of the telecom companies that are involved don't find themselves in the same place. That being said, I don't think this will result in any of these companies paying out money to ANYONE. However they may decided to end the program, or the government may find a way to keep these programs a tighter kept secret....Welcome to Crzyland

Okay...so let's just see here, smelling someones perfume...okay that makes sense...whistling, I guess that maybe someone would have a distinctive 'sound' if you will...and now turning a fan on over someones face...this seems rather out there, but you never know, maybe the fan blows your smell across their face...none the less inducing dreams in others could be a lot of fun...too bad you can't control what they're dreaming...Welcome to Crzyland

What would you say in the checks and balance's of this country were broke...at a loss for words...allow me...It appears that the Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) have been denied 'security clearance' to investigate why the NSA has been wiretapping phone calls without using proper legal warrants...the NSA simply feels that they can't be investigated unless they want to be investigated...the OPR began requesting clearance back in January but was denied the access on May 9th...after being denied access to investigate they have decided to drop the case...I guess NSA lawyers are safe for now...if you listen close enough you can hear a collective "Thank you Patriot Act" coming from inside the NSA...Welcome to CrzyLand

FCC Aproves Tax: ISPs now required to pay for Fed's Wiretapping

Broadband providers and Internet phone companies will have to pick up the tab for the cost of building in mandatory wiretap access for police surveillance, federal regulators ruled Wednesday.

First I'd like to say please read the article because this is a very important issue...The FCC has decided to tax companies, municipalities and universities, all while saying it's necessary to fight the war on terrorism and to keep cost low (for the FCC and not the companies, municipalities and universities)...from there I'll say that the simple cost that the FCC is asking these organizations to take on is only going to trickle down to US the consumers...estimation of $7 billion for 1,800 colleges alone seems silly to simply 'wire tap VoIP and broadband' for the single use of broadband phone communications...never mind the simple idea that their going to tap everything but just look at VoIP data and not regular web surfing activity. This all stems from an order from the FCC to all Internet broadband and VoIP service providers stating that "This Order is the first critical step to apply" Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act "CALEA obligations to new technologies and services that are increasingly relied upon by the American public to meet their communications needs." The universities and VoIP providers have filed a suit against the FCC in regards to this...and while that suit is still pending they've decided to add on this tax issue...Now when the CALEA law was still just a bill, congress was assured that this law was intended ONLY for telecommunications and not for things like Prodigy, AOL, etc. Yet the FCC now feels that due to VoIP, broadband is now part of telecommunication. But even without the CALEA law, police agencies can legally wiretap Internet communications...hence the FBI's Carnivore system...already in place to handle these things. Of course the FBI and the FCC are touting around claiming this is needed to help stop terrorist and aid in Home Land Security...of course this all goes hand in hand with my previous posting about Congress considering mandatory ISP snooping...and those of you who read a previous article about the Homeland Security's handling of white powder in envelopes, already know Homeland wouldn't have a clue as to what to do with VoIP wiretaps...at the end of the day this technology will probably be used illegally by the government in a quest to do something good, they'll then find out what they want to know, and have to find some other means to prove what they know to be true...OR in a more likely move they'll attempt to go to trial with the data they have obtained through illegal measures given to them by this new FCC order intended for other purposes...and find themselves with a clearly guilty man walking free...Welcome To CrzyLand

Gone in 20 Minutes: using laptops to steal cars

A look at how thieves are using laptops to steal the most expensive luxury cars. Many of these cars have completely keyless ignitions and door locks, meaning it can all be done wirelessly. Thieves often follow a car until it gets left in a quiet area, and they can steal it in about 20 minutes. Scary stuff.
